Back pressure control
An essential part of our underwater exhaust systems is the ‘scoop’ or ‘cowl’. Designed by MarQuip, this special cap incorporates insights from tank tests and advanced computer models as well practical experiences to optimise back pressure control.

Noise attenuation
Noise is always an issue onboard a yacht. Our acoustic experts are continuously working on optimally balanced and super-quiet systems within the parameters set by the involved parties. MarQuip offers tailor-made solutions based on the data received.

Anti vibration control
Once the layout of an exhaust is designed, we focus on reducing the vibrations transferred from the exhaust system to the vessel’s structure and compensating for the effects of thermal expansion on length. This is achieved by placing anti vibration mounts, compensators and rubber bellows in key positions.

Exhaust cooling control
MarQuip fits special nozzles inside exhaust pipes to improve control over the size of water droplets, boosting the exhaust gas cooling and eliminating hot spots from the pipe. Many existing wet exhaust systems are made of the wrong materials and vulnerable to corrosion: MarQuip deploys its extensive knowledge of various types of saltwater-resistant, high-grade stainless steel to design a relatively lightweight system that is highly resistant to wear.

Emission control
MarQuip is renowned for its green exhaust solutions. Our diesel particle filter units are well integrated in most of the exhaust systems provided. MarQuip’s latest innovation is the combined SCR/silencer, a new product which will ensure you are compliant with the new IMO TIER III regulations without any major impact on layout.
